Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) In the 2nd match minute, Latvia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Haralds Burvis to maneuver through the defense. In the 4th minute, Ireland's Peter Bayes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Juris Mītava. Juris Mītava yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Juris Mītava showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benen McDonald in the 11th minute of the match. Ireland's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joe Burke in the 12th minute. After taking down the ball on Ireland's corner Joe Burke fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Juris Mītava quite easily take care of the ball. In the 13th minute Vilmārs Everts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Łukasz Polak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Benen McDonald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Latvia's Juris Mītava played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benen McDonald in the 15th minute of play. In the 17th minute of the match, Benen McDonald tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Juris Mītava saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Łukasz Polak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Linards Kaprāns in the 19th minute of play. After 20 minutes, Benen McDonald made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Latvia's Juris Mītava tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Juris Mītava was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Benen McDonald showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 23 minute of play. Benen McDonald blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Juris Mītava having to make a save. Benen McDonald fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juris Mītava having to interfere. Benen McDonald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Juris Mītava tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Latvia's Juris Mītava proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Latvia from getting a goal against them. Łukasz Polak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vilmārs Everts in the 34th minute of play. Juris Mītava stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Benen McDonald's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Shey Cassin was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. When Benen McDonald came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Ireland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benen McDonald couldn't finish the play.
In the 51st minute Linards Kaprāns shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Łukasz Polak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Latvia's Dailis Brensmits was substituted for Frīdis Ennītis. After 58 played minutes Ireland got a freekick which was hit by Joe Burke. Łukasz Polak acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 59th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Dailis Brensmits. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Latvia's goalkeeper Juris Mītava, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Linards Kaprāns could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Łukasz Polak made a huge save. Benen McDonald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Juris Mītava tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brendanus McMichel kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Ireland made a substitution. Peadar Kelly replaced Brendanus McMichel. When Benen McDonald came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Ireland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benen McDonald couldn't finish the play. Juris Mītava showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benen McDonald, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. A nice corner shot did that Fergal Deans got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Juris Mītava quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Łukasz Polak made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ginters Niedolis in the 82nd minute. Braeden Moran recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Ireland's Peadar Kelly in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Latvia's goalie prevented a goal. Ingus Vārpiņš could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Łukasz Polak made a huge save. Łukasz Polak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ingus Vārpiņš, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ireland were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Latvia for a fine match.
