José Quintero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 35th minute, José Quintero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. U21 Chile's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sheldon Cooper in the 37th minute. After 38 played minutes U21 Chile got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Seco. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomiro Gamarra in the 42nd minute of play forced U21 Panama's goalkeeper Julio Arauz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 43 minutes into the match, U21 Panama's goalkeeper Julio Arauz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cato Lica. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomiro Gamarra in the 45th minute of play forced U21 Panama's goalkeeper Julio Arauz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cato Lica stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. U21 Panama's Julio Arauz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baldomiro Gamarra in the 69th minute of play. In the last second Octavio Canales throw himself and got hold of the ball when José Quintero in the 77thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. 82 minutes into the match, U21 Chile's goal looked a bit too open when José Quintero came free, but Octavio Canales reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to U21 Panama getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Moisés Chavez hit a great ball. The throw-in from Julio-César Galaz in the 93rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by U21 Panama's Leonidas Treviño. After 94 minutes, Leonidas Treviño mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Panama and the U21 Chile players grew even worse after the yellow card. Leonidas Treviño kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match.
