Abraham Vilhelmsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. With an all-out effort, Iceland's Aleksander Lukasik threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kaldi Þorrason, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Abraham Vilhelmsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Konrad Zdeb in the 13th minute of the match. If Teitur Arnljótsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute, Konrad Zdeb ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Abraham Vilhelmsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. 38 minutes into the match, Konrad Zdeb had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Abraham Vilhelmsson. Iceland's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Konrad Zdeb was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Konrad Zdeb recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Poland's Konrad Zdeb in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Iceland's goalie prevented a goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Konrad Zdeb stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Iceland getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Kár Númason hit a great ball. Konrad Zdeb scored 0-5 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Abraham Vilhelmsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Konrad Zdeb took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Abraham Vilhelmsson. Abraham Vilhelmsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. An unexpected shot in the 67th minute by Witalis Giertych got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cyryl Kaczeniak in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abraham Vilhelmsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cyryl Kaczeniak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cyryl Kaczeniak might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abraham Vilhelmsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cyryl Kaczeniak ran back to his position shaking his head. 83 minutes into the match, Iceland's goal looked a bit too open when Cyryl Kaczeniak came free, but Abraham Vilhelmsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Poland were awarded a corner in the 87th minute after Iceland's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Roland Galaska took the corner. Cyryl Kaczeniak's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abraham Vilhelmsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. After 90 minutes Iceland's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Roland Galaska who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Roland Galaska almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Iceland's Abraham Vilhelmsson did a great save. In the 92ndth minute of the game Cyryl Kaczeniak who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Iceland's Abraham Vilhelmsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Iceland getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Kár Númason hit a great ball. When the final whistle sounded Poland left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Iceland.
