Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Edmondo Vitucci fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xuan Garcia having to interfere. Xuan Garcia came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Italy's Edmondo Vitucci. But to his dismay, Edmondo Vitucci quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Xove Herrera scored 1-1 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Angelo Peruzzi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Concetto Carbonetti struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Xuan Garcia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmondo Vitucci was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Italy getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Christian Mariotti hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Florian Perazzolo in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Xuan Garcia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pietro Villalcazar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Angelo Peruzzi made a huge save. Angelo Peruzzi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jair Domínguez in the 95th minute of play. The Italy supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Spain's performance. The match ended with a win for Spain.
