When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Alberto Saz took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Bastiaan Oost to make any attempt to save it. In the 9th minute Kristof Huisingh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xuan Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Netherlands's Bastiaan Oost played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Barreiro in the 12th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Saz in the 14th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Bastiaan Oost to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Saz came free, but Bastiaan Oost reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Xuan Garcia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kristof Huisingh, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 21st minute Alberto Saz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bastiaan Oost saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bastiaan Oost showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bartolo Bueno in the 26th minute of the match. Michael Teesing recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 32nd minute, Michael Teesing left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 38th minute Roberto Barreiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bastiaan Oost saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xuan Garcia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sander Loch, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Xuan Garcia came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Michael Teesing. But to his dismay, Michael Teesing quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. 45 minutes had been played when some careless play by Spain's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ferdinant Lindenbergh was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Netherlands's corner Ferdinant Lindenbergh fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Xuan Garcia quite easily take care of the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kristof Huisingh was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Spain booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kristof Huisingh didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bastiaan Oost took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastiano Arenas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th minute Alberto Saz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bastiaan Oost saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xuan Garcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristof Huisingh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kristof Huisingh couldn't finish the play. Netherlands made a substitution. Rafael Daems replaced Japke Dowie. Spain made a substitution. Pablo Picasso replaced Sebastiano Arenas. Spain's Xove Herrera was substituted for Alberto Saz. Spain made a substitution. Pablo Picasso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Netherlands's Jhon Sloothaak shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 78th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Xuan Garcia but with some difficulty. After a defensive mix-up in Netherlands's zone, Xove Herrera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bastiaan Oost came out of the goal and Xove Herrera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With an all-out effort, Netherlands's Xuan Garcia threw himself towards the right post 82 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Huub Dijkman, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 85th minute of the match, Niels-Jan Fransen tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Xuan Garcia saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 87th minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. Spain's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jhon Sloothaak ran over to the corner to take the kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Huub Dijkman got free with Xuan Garcia in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 92nd minute Xove Herrera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bastiaan Oost saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 94 minutes into the game, Pablo Picasso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Bastiaan Oost was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
