Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Valts Polārists made the kick off and thus started the match. Luis Alberto Suárez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Verners Krieviņš made a huge save. U21 Moldova's Luis Alberto Suárez came free and shot a quick shot against goal 6 minutes in the game, fortunately Verners Krieviņš had problems saving as it came toward the left post. U21 Moldova's Emilian Blanari played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ādolfs Brudzinskis in the 8th minute of play. Verners Krieviņš made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Doga in the 9th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as U21 Moldova's Cristian Doga slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Verners Krieviņš. That made the score 1-0 after 13 minutes of play. The supporters of U21 Latvia booed when U21 Moldova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dragos Iorga didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute Cristian Doga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Verners Krieviņš saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 Moldova's Emilian Blanari played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valts Polārists in the 26th minute of play. U21 Latvia's Verners Krieviņš proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Latvia from getting a goal against them. In the 29th minute Ādolfs Brudzinskis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilian Blanari saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Verners Krieviņš was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and Cristian Doga capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cristian Doga really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Verners Krieviņš was a little too slow when Cristian Doga got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 34th minute. The score was now 3-0. U21 Moldova's Vasile Cârlig managed to work through U21 Latvia's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Vasile Cârlig dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Verners Krieviņš made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Luis Alberto Suárez sent off a good shot on target. Verners Krieviņš showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vasile Cârlig in the 45th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Cristian Doga took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Verners Krieviņš to make any attempt to save it. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.
The wind increased when Vasile Cârlig made the kick off in the second half. After 54 played minutes Filip Ciuche shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for U21 Latvia's Verners Krieviņš to catch but Filip Ciuche was lucky. It became 5-0 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. In the 58th minute of the match Filip Ciuche shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Verners Krieviņš showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Verners Krieviņš showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Alberto Suárez, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Imants Utināns sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 80 minutes, Valts Polārists mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Latvia and the U21 Moldova players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of U21 Moldova booed when U21 Latvia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valts Polārists didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute, Luis Alberto Suárez made a precise shot to the right of Verners Krieviņš. U21 Latvia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. 90 minutes into the match, Lucian Graur notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of U21 Latvia's Verners Krieviņš. Verners Krieviņš was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to U21 Latvia getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Ilmārs Altenbergs hit a great ball. Verners Krieviņš took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vasile Cârlig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. U21 Moldova fully deserved thier win.
