Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Manoel Jacinto got the match started through his kick off. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Ederono Sabugo got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Calvin Johnson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pepe Urtaza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. Colombia's defense didn't have a chance, in the 4th minute, when Calvin Johnson scored to the left of an out of position Pepe Urtaza, making the score, 1-0. 6 minutes into the match, Brazil's goal looked a bit too open when Txanton Pabon came free, but Luís Fernando Barreto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 8 minutes into the match, Brazil's Calvin Johnson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pepe Urtaza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 9th minute, Txanton Pabon made a precise shot to the right of Luís Fernando Barreto. Brazil's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 12 minutes into the match, Brazil's goal looked a bit too open when Hibai Archuleta came free, but Luís Fernando Barreto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute of the match Brazil got a corner. Colombia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jânio César ran over to the corner to take the kick. A collision led to Brazil getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Marquinhos Boldrini hit a great ball. Luís Fernando Barreto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hibai Archuleta, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 27th minute Manoel Jacinto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pepe Urtaza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pepe Urtaza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manoel Jacinto, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. With a little luck, Colombia's Pepe Urtaza got control of the ball when Calvin Johnson tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jânio César got free with Pepe Urtaza in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 33 minutes into the match, Hibai Archuleta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luís Fernando Barreto. Brazil's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hibai Archuleta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Pepe Urtaza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manoel Jacinto in the 36th minute of play. If Manoel Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Colombia's Pepe Urtaza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Colombia from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manoel Jacinto in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pepe Urtaza saved Colombia from getting behind.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hibai Archuleta to make the kick off. In the 58th match minute, Brazil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kristen Stewart to maneuver through the defense. In the 59th minute of the match Leonardo Penagos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luís Fernando Barreto skillfully saved the ball. Brazil's Igor Cavaleiro was substituted for Nando Trigo. Brazil made a substitution. Thomás Vianna replaced Calvin Johnson. 71 minutes had been played when some careless play by Brazil's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tino Cuebas was slow to take the kick. During this time Colombia's players had a chance to rest. Tino Cuebas made a great header on Colombia's corner, it was just that Brazil's Luís Fernando Barreto managed to reach the ball for a save. Pepe Urtaza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vladimir Moreno, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the last second Luís Fernando Barreto throw himself and got hold of the ball when Hibai Archuleta in the 77thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Vladimir Moreno scored 2-3 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pepe Urtaza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Colombia's Robi van Persie was substituted for Hibai Archuleta. Colombia's Xuaco Mallavia was substituted for Ederono Sabugo. Colombia's Maxin Olloa was substituted for Lorenzo Valenzuela. Pepe Urtaza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thomás Vianna's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. In the 88th match minute, Brazil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kristen Stewart to maneuver through the defense. Pepe Urtaza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vladimir Moreno in the 94th minute of play. The Colombia supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Colombia would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
