After a rather tough play, U21 Wales's Sulyen Clements got a free kick in the 34th minute. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Wales's zone, Ted Bundy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maddox Cleary came out of the goal and Ted Bundy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th minute, Arthur Carmichael hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 41st minute Leigh Rider shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maddox Cleary saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leigh Rider in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Maddox Cleary saved U21 Wales from getting behind. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Llwybyr Flood to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Glenn Floyd hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leigh Rider scored 1-0 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Maddox Cleary, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ted Bundy in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Maddox Cleary saved U21 Wales from getting behind. Maddox Cleary showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ted Bundy in the 59th minute of the match. U21 England's Eddie Tuck was substituted for Glenn Floyd. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ted Bundy in the 73rd minute of play forced U21 Wales's goalkeeper Maddox Cleary to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. U21 Wales's Maddox Cleary played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugh Barton in the 77th minute of play. Leigh Rider sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. U21 England made a substitution. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
