U21 Poland's Gabe Batistuta was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Eric Neacșu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Witomir Lagiewniki could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Eric Neacșu made a huge save. Artur Boruc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doru Pașcanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 25 minutes, Gustaw Frenzel made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. U21 Romania's Eric Neacșu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 39 minutes into the match, U21 Poland's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel-Omar Batistuta came free, but Artur Boruc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Artur Boruc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel-Omar Batistuta in the 42nd minute of the match. Artur Boruc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel-Omar Batistuta in the 44th minute of play. Iwo Frodyma kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Artur Boruc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgar Agudin, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute.

In the 53rd minute of the match U21 Romania got a corner. U21 Poland's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ferdinand Burileanu ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Wasyl Koperski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. U21 Romania made a substitution. Stelian Cojocaru replaced Gabriel-Omar Batistuta. 64 minutes into the match, U21 Romania's goal looked a bit too open when Witomir Lagiewniki came free, but Eric Neacșu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ionică Săceanu got free with Artur Boruc in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. U21 Poland made a substitution. Roch Lewkowicz replaced Jaanus Jarosz. 83 minutes into the match, U21 Poland's goal looked a bit too open when Ionică Săceanu came free, but Artur Boruc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute of the match, Ionică Săceanu got a very nice opportunity to score, but Artur Boruc was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. U21 Poland's Jakub Pinczewski was substituted for I Nyoman Qährämanov. U21 Poland's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
