Davie Costello could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Henry 陈奕飞 made a huge save. U21 China's Henry 陈奕飞 proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save U21 China from getting a goal against them. In the 41stth minute of the game Grzegorz Gorski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 China's Henry 陈奕飞 was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when 秦耀岚 stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to U21 China getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. 康剑斌 hit a great ball. In the 58th minute, Davie Costello made a precise shot to the right of Henry 陈奕飞. U21 China's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 90th minute, 康剑斌 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 91 played minutes, U21 Ireland's Blair Robinson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Henry 陈奕飞 came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in U21 Ireland reached it. The U21 China players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
