U21 Argentina's Alvaro Lore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frechoso Peñafiel in the 26th minute of play. Ramsay Bolton charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. An unexpectedly hard shot by Apolo Ordono in the 34th minute of play forced U21 Colombia's goalkeeper Fortunato Baeza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Apolo Ordono showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. In the 42nd minute, Apolo Ordono ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fortunato Baeza was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcelo Filipo during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 45th minute, Marcelo Filipo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.
U21 Argentina's Luís Fabiano Artime was substituted for Apolo Ordono. After having played for 53 minutes, Frechoso Peñafiel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Colombia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frechoso Peñafiel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 54 played minutes U21 Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Leandro Gallego. In the 56th minute Ciro Caton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fortunato Baeza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcelo Filipo kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. A collision led to U21 Colombia getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Quico Frances hit a great ball. Alvaro Lore made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Quico Frances sent off a good shot on target. Quico Frances could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Alvaro Lore made a huge save. 89 minutes into the match, U21 Argentina's goal looked a bit too open when Quico Frances came free, but Alvaro Lore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U21 Colombia's Lopez Larrañaga quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Leon Cesaroni, made in the 92nd minute of the game. 96 minutes into the game, Quico Frances cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Alvaro Lore was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
