When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Kunju Aulakh put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Roy Nangpi. 10 minutes into the game, Aksakumara Gurai cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Roy Nangpi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Lawrence Yatco fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Philippines's protests and gave Lawrence Yatco a yellow card for diving instead. After 14 played minutes U21 Philippines got a freekick which was hit by Lawrence Yatco. In the 15th minute of the match Atisringa Chahall sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Roy Nangpi skillfully saved the ball. Roy Nangpi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aksakumara Gurai in the 17th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Gualterio Merlin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 35 minutes into the match, U21 Philippines's goal looked a bit too open when Aksakumara Gurai came free, but Roy Nangpi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roy Nangpi was out of position in the 37 minute of play, and Kunju Aulakh capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Kunju Aulakh really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. Kunju Aulakh's late challenge caught a U21 Philippines's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kunju Aulakh helped the player get up and apologised. In the 42nd match minute, U21 India was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kunju Aulakh to maneuver through the defense. U21 India's Kevala Janda suffered a sore thigh after 45 minutes and couldn't finish the game. During the 45th minute of the match Lawrence Yatco completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Lawrence Yatco a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. U21 India made a substitution. Cidrupa Sahni replaced Kevala Janda. Lawrence Yatco hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. In the 51st minute of the match U21 India got a corner. U21 Philippines's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jyotirbhaga Sodhi ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 51st match minute, U21 Philippines was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arthur Pumaren to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

A collision led to U21 India getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Aksakumara Gurai hit a great ball. 70 minutes into the game, Aksakumara Gurai cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Roy Nangpi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 73rd match minute, U21 India was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kunju Aulakh to maneuver through the defense. Sunil Jain made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eddie Binsol in the 87th minute of play. Sunil Jain was a little too slow when Carl Parotong got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 4-1. In the 92nd minute, Aksakumara Gurai left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 India fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. Carl Parotong struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Sunil Jain didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Philippines. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. U21 India fully deserved thier win.
