Sreten Ikić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from András Medgyesi in the 20th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Miroljub Milenković got free with Attila Csizmadia in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 23rd minute, Vitomir Kekić got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Serbia booed when Hungary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. András Medgyesi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mihailo Drpljanin was slow to take the kick. During this time Serbia's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Serbia's Mihailo Drpljanin to fire away a dangerous shot which Attila Csizmadia despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 95th minute Hungary were awarded a corner. Bertold Ács went to the cornerflag to take it. Serbia's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
