He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in U21 Brazil reached it. 20 minutes into the game, Charles Botelho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Baiste O'Neill was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 23rd minute Brann Morrison shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristiano Santana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 27th minute, Brann Morrison ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cristiano Santana was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The U21 Ireland fans' excitement grew in the 35th match minute when U21 Ireland's Brann Morrison looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Caoilte Delaney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Brann Morrison stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Charles Botelho got free with Baiste O'Neill in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
