Alvaro Lore stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iván Luis Torrejón's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iván Luis Torrejón in the 36th minute of play forced U21 Argentina's goalkeeper Alvaro Lore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jose Ramon Manzor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Turcota Garcia, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Turcota Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hisashi Mitsui stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Hisashi Mitsui took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Alvaro Lore to make any attempt to save it. If Turcota Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 64 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Chile's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jorge-Daniel Bermúdez was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Argentina's players had a chance to rest. With a little luck, U21 Argentina's Alvaro Lore got control of the ball when Hisashi Mitsui tried to sneak it across the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, U21 Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Severo Orlondon came free, but Jose Ramon Manzor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Despite this Alvaro Lore quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ariel Haitz tried in the 87th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Alvaro Lore a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 1-3.
