Kazim Ömärov did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Fausto Guixe 11 minutes into the match. Fausto Guixe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kazim Ömärov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Kazim Ömärov came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the U21 Azerbaijan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kazim Ömärov couldn't finish the play. In the 22ndth minute of the game Barros Moraina who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Azerbaijan's Güman Bäkirov was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fausto Guixe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kazim Ömärov in the 25th minute of the match.
