But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Ferraresi couldn't finish the play. Amama Mann charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amama Mann the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 12th match minute, U21 India was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amama Mann to maneuver through the defense. 14 minutes into the match, U21 India's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Ferraresi came free, but Prabhdeep Mallik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Donato Armellini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prabhdeep Mallik having to interfere. Prabhdeep Mallik stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alberto Ferraresi's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto Ferraresi in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Prabhdeep Mallik prevented the ball from getting in the gole. U21 Italy's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alex Martano in the 25th minute. The corner ended in Edoardo Leoni almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but U21 India's Prabhdeep Mallik did a great save. Prabhdeep Mallik was out of position in the 26 minute of play, and Edoardo Leoni capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Edoardo Leoni really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Krantivira Bhatt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Donato Gigli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. After 30 minutes U21 Italy's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Atisringa Chahall who took care of the corner kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alberto Ferraresi to strike the kick off in the second half. Inderpal Chawla struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Donato Gigli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 India. Ennio Riso kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. If Inderpal Chawla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. U21 Italy's Donato Gigli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Avajyuta Rahul in the 59th minute of play. The supporters of U21 India booed when U21 Italy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberigo Fiordelisi didn't get a good kick on the ball. U21 Italy's Bruno Briganti was substituted for Alex Martano. U21 Italy made a substitution. Bianco Punta replaced Alberigo Fiordelisi. Alberigo Fiordelisi kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Prabhdeep Mallik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Ferraresi in the 68th minute of the match. U21 India's Prabhdeep Mallik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bianco Punta in the 78th minute of play. Prabhdeep Mallik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Ferraresi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abhijeet Takkar kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. In the 91st minute Bianco Punta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Prabhdeep Mallik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 Italy's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
