Asad Maymun made in the 6th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Lotfi Abdul Karim however managed to control. 8 minutes into the game, Asad Maymun threw the ball into play from the sideline. Portugal's Joaquim Ribeiro quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. With a little luck, Lebanon's Sabri Yazan got control of the ball when Luís Leal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sabri Yazan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Leal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Luís Leal put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Sabri Yazan. In the 18th minute, Jonni Mota hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ilyas Kareef sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd play minute Luís Leal came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Sabri Yazan. 3-0. Costa Pereira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafiq Latif, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Costa Pereira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafiq Latif in the 28th minute of play. Costa Pereira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafiq Latif in the 30th minute of the match. Sabri Yazan made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Luís Leal sent off a good shot on target. Luís Ramos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sabri Yazan having to interfere. Luís Leal received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Sabri Yazan came out and tried to block the shot, but Luís Leal slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 37th minute. After 44 minutes of play, Portugal's Luís Leal made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sabri Yazan was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

The wind increased when Ilyas Kareef made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Rafiq Latif shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Costa Pereira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sabri Yazan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Leal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Lebanon's Alaa Kameel got a free kick in the 62nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Ribeiro in the 64th minute of play forced Lebanon's goalkeeper Sabri Yazan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the match, Lebanon's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Nascimento came free, but Sabri Yazan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ilyas Kareef's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Costa Pereira firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Abel Fernandes got a free kick in the 71st minute. Portugal's Alfredo Queirós was substituted for Raul Bessa. In the 72nd minute, Abel Fernandes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 74 minutes into the match, Lebanon's Asad Abdul Nasser sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Costa Pereira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sabri Yazan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. In the 77th minute, Ricardo Nascimento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 81 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Ilyas Kareef came free, but Costa Pereira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ricardo Nascimento might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sabri Yazan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ricardo Nascimento ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 82nd minute Ricardo Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sabri Yazan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sabri Yazan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Nascimento in the 84th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ricardo Nascimento in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sabri Yazan saved Lebanon from getting behind. Sabri Yazan came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Portugal's Luís Ramos. But to his dismay, Luís Ramos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. Sabri Yazan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo Nascimento in the 94th minute of play. 97 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Mousa Al Tayyib came free, but Costa Pereira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Portugal were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Lebanon for a fine match.
