If Ion Oblemenco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 19 minutes of play, U21 Mexico's Hiram Ortiz made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emil Aldulea was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gervasio Bilintx showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ion Oblemenco, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 24 minutes into the match, U21 Romania's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Pavon came free, but Emil Aldulea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The U21 Romania fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. U21 Mexico's Gervasio Bilintx proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Mexico from getting a goal against them. The U21 Mexico supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching U21 Romania's performance. The match ended with a win for U21 Romania.
