In the 3rd minute, France's Cyprien Bourry dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Panama's Fabio Quintero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. Fabio Quintero was out of position in the 10 minute of play, and Cyprien Bourry capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cyprien Bourry really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. With a little luck, Panama's Fabio Quintero got control of the ball when Cyprien Bourry tried to sneak it across the goal line. Raphaël Varan made in the 17th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by France's François-Xavier Bonnin. Fabio Quintero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas Lachapelle in the 20th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, France's goal looked a bit too open when Calito Escalona came free, but Darren Vatinel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Panama's Fabio Quintero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. Fabio Quintero made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Cyprien Bourry sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Panama defense, Cyprien Bourry kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabio Quintero. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabio Quintero should have stopped the shot. Cyprien Bourry could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Fabio Quintero made a huge save. France's François-Xavier Bonnin quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Raphaël Varan, made in the 36th minute of the game. 38 minutes into the match, Panama's goalkeeper Fabio Quintero had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cyprien Bourry. A nice corner shot did that Max Bultrón got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Darren Vatinel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Lachapelle in the 45th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Fabio Quintero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th match minute, France was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marius Tresor to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lucas Lachapelle to make the kick off. Darren Vatinel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Max Bultrón in the 55th minute of play. If Jorge Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 62 minutes into the game, France's Cyprien Bourry nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabio Quintero made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Panama's Jonathan Gomez was substituted for Calito Escalona. Darren Vatinel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cheito Barrera, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. If Wilfredo Barrera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. France's François Bénezet was substituted for François-Xavier Bonnin. The supporters of France booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Cedeño didn't get a good kick on the ball. France's Malik Lancelin couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 74th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Panama. Fabio Quintero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucas Lachapelle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 78 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Lachapelle came free, but Fabio Quintero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. France's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Malik Lancelin in the 79th minute. Marius Tresor made a great header on France's corner, it was just that Panama's Fabio Quintero managed to reach the ball for a save. Fabio Quintero stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lucas Lachapelle's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. In the 83rd minute, Lucas Lachapelle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 88th minute, Lucas Lachapelle ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabio Quintero was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. 91 minutes into the match, Panama's Wilfredo Barrera sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Darren Vatinel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 92 minutes had been played when some careless play by France's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alberto Cedeño was slow to take the kick. During this time Panama's players had a chance to rest. After having played for 95 minutes, Sonny Anderson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. France's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sonny Anderson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sonny Anderson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. France had won after a very even match.
