Seating: 2373, VIP seats: 206) In the 2nd match minute, Austria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Rau to maneuver through the defense. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Austria's goalkeeper Bastian Pretzer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aćim Bilić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bastian Pretzer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Serafim Ašković in the 8th minute. Bastian Pretzer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aćim Bilić, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bastian Pretzer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aćim Bilić, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. 11 minutes into the game, Aćim Bilić cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Bastian Pretzer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 17th minute Peer Stocker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rastko Mirosavljević saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute of the match Žarko Jarić shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bastian Pretzer showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Marcel Parkoz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Serbia booed when Austria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Rau didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute of the game Davor Timotić made a throw-in which Aćim Bilić played forward. Rastko Mirosavljević took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dominik Jensen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After taking down the ball on Austria's corner Benjamin Joeckel fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rastko Mirosavljević quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Obren Lomić in the 32nd minute of play forced Austria's goalkeeper Bastian Pretzer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute, Peer Stocker ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rastko Mirosavljević was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. When Aćim Bilić came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Serbia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aćim Bilić couldn't finish the play. Serafim Ašković could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Bastian Pretzer made a huge save. A collision led to Serbia getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Davor Timotić hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Peer Stocker in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rastko Mirosavljević prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 45 minutes into the match, Dominik Jensen notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Serbia's Rastko Mirosavljević. Rastko Mirosavljević was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Serbia players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Austria were winning 1-2.
Serbia's Radmilo Dedijer was substituted for Davor Timotić. Bastian Pretzer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aćim Bilić, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. 52 minutes in the game, Serafim Ašković dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Serbia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Žarko Jarić in the 58th minute. If Aćim Bilić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute Peer Stocker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rastko Mirosavljević saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peer Stocker made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 62ndth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Rastko Mirosavljević would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aleksandar Đukić in the 63rd minute of play forced Austria's goalkeeper Bastian Pretzer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Serbia's Radomir Đorić was substituted for Aleksandar Đukić. Serbia's Ignjat Gecić was substituted for Aćim Bilić. The corner ended in Žarko Jarić almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Austria's Bastian Pretzer did a great save. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Austria's goalkeeper Bastian Pretzer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marcel Parkoz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rastko Mirosavljević having to make a save. Rastko Mirosavljević made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peer Stocker in the 78th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Peer Stocker in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rastko Mirosavljević prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 82nd minute, Radomir Đorić got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Austria's Herbert Reiners was substituted for Peer Stocker. 86 minutes into the match, Ignjat Gecić notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Austria's Bastian Pretzer. Bastian Pretzer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Austria's Sascha-Andreas Lau was substituted for Peter Mundanjohl. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andre Kalvelage got free with Rastko Mirosavljević in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 96th minute Ignjat Gecić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bastian Pretzer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
