U21 Morocco were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after U21 Macedonia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Udad Roumani took the corner. Gavril Popov struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Tanan El Idrissi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Macedonia. 32 minutes into the match, U21 Morocco's goal looked a bit too open when Gavril Popov came free, but Tanan El Idrissi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Labib Soulaimani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Imir Grigorijevski having to interfere. In the 40th minute of the match, Ziad Benzouin tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Imir Grigorijevski saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Labib Soulaimani succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 42nd playminute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gianluca Muka stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Imir Grigorijevski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 77 minutes, Ramzi Boussaboun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Morocco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ramzi Boussaboun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 87 minutes, Yahya Yaacoubi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Morocco and the U21 Macedonia players grew even worse after the yellow card.
