Spectators: 10305 (Terracing: 7729, Seating: 2370, VIP seats: 206) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Belton Algoud started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd match minute, U21 Australia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jack Paull to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Belton Algoud in the 6th minute of play forced U21 Northern Ireland's goalkeeper Charlie Bilton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Charlie Bilton came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Australia's Belton Algoud. But to his dismay, Belton Algoud quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 12th minute, Frank Browne hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 13thth minute of the game Belton Algoud who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Northern Ireland's Charlie Bilton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 14 played minutes U21 Northern Ireland got a freekick which was hit by Shane Darby. After 16 played minutes U21 Australia got a freekick which was hit by John Bonham. 19 minutes into the match, U21 Northern Ireland's goalkeeper Charlie Bilton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Belton Algoud. Charlie Bilton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Belton Algoud, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the U21 Northern Ireland defense, Belton Algoud kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Charlie Bilton . The U21 Northern Ireland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Charlie Bilton should have stopped the shot. U21 Northern Ireland's Charlie Bilton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jess Busst in the 27th minute of play. Charlie Bilton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jess Busst in the 29th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ivan Gettins made a kick off. Belton Algoud kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. After 58 minutes, Kris Middleton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Northern Ireland and the U21 Australia players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of U21 Australia booed when U21 Northern Ireland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kris Middleton didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 59 minutes of play, U21 Australia's Belton Algoud made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Charlie Bilton was left in no man's land by his defense there! U21 Australia made a substitution. Michael Quigley replaced Ollie Mosley. Howie Prior made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Ivan Gettins sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 74 minutes, Belton Algoud managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Australia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Belton Algoud was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. U21 Northern Ireland made a substitution. Pat Hughes replaced Rowan Way . U21 Northern Ireland's Leo Carter was substituted for Jonathan Mulford . Charlie Bilton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Belton Algoud, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. U21 Australia's Howie Prior played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pat Hughes in the 79th minute of play. In the 83rd match minute, U21 Northern Ireland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Rundell to maneuver through the defense. When Jess Busst fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Australia's protests and gave Jess Busst a yellow card for diving instead. Jess Busst kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. In the 90th minute, U21 Northern Ireland's Austen Browning ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Howie Prior. Howie Prior yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1.
