Seating: 2370, VIP seats: 206) U21 Colombia's Fernandez Caspe started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the game, Peter Deckert was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Austria's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Colombia the free kick. A collision led to U21 Austria getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Peter Deckert hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fernandez Caspe got free with Ralf Beckers in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Stefan Greil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, U21 Austria's Dustin Mudra got a free kick in the 8th minute. Fernandez Caspe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Ralf Beckers made a huge save. After 19 minutes U21 Austria's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Boniel Queiruga who took care of the corner kick. Boniel Queiruga made a great header on U21 Colombia's corner, it was just that U21 Austria's Ralf Beckers managed to reach the ball for a save. Ralf Beckers was out of position in the 20 minute of play, and Edorta Saez capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Edorta Saez really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Dustin Mudra took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Baumer Maza. Baumer Maza dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. If Heli Moser had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cordearo Lasso hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Stefan Greil recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ralf Beckers came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Colombia's Firme Megid. But to his dismay, Firme Megid quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Firme Megid recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stefan Greil made a kick off. After a rather tough play, U21 Colombia's Boniel Queiruga got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After having played for 54 minutes, Stefan Greil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Austria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stefan Greil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ralf Beckers stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernandez Caspe's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Fernandez Caspe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Stefan Greil came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the U21 Austria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stefan Greil couldn't finish the play. In the 73rd minute, U21 Colombia's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Stefan Greil fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Fernandez Caspe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Firme Megid had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. U21 Austria's Ralf Beckers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Firme Megid in the 83rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edorta Saez in the 90th minute of play forced U21 Austria's goalkeeper Ralf Beckers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. U21 Austria's Tom Schopp got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Stefan Greil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ralf Beckers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Firme Megid in the 98th minute of the match. U21 Colombia's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
