U21 Argentina's Eriberto Mancio was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 10th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Paulo Obeko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eriberto Mancio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 20 minutes of play, U21 Argentina's Eriberto Mancio made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paulo Obeko was left in no man's land by his defense there! Paulo Obeko made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eriberto Mancio in the 23rd minute. Paulo Obeko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eriberto Mancio, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eriberto Mancio in the 26th minute of play forced U21 Mexico's goalkeeper Paulo Obeko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eriberto Mancio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 44 minutes into the game, Bruno Evangelista was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Argentina's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Mexico the free kick. After 44 played minutes U21 Argentina got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Evangelista. Paulo Obeko made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Santos Idacio sent off a good shot on target.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Landon Donovan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When U21 Argentina's Eriberto Mancio in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Mexico's zone, Eriberto Mancio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Obeko came out of the goal and Eriberto Mancio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Mexico's goalkeeper Paulo Obeko, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 82nd minute Eriberto Mancio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Obeko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonas Cordarin during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 85th match minute, U21 Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonas Cordarin to maneuver through the defense. 90 minutes into the game, Epifanio Senen threw the ball into play from the sideline. U21 Argentina's Ricardo Artal quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 90 minutes into the match, U21 Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Eriberto Mancio came free, but Paulo Obeko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 94 minutes of play, U21 Argentina's Eriberto Mancio made it 8-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paulo Obeko was left in no man's land by his defense there! U21 Argentina walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
