But to his dismay, Dany-Adams Raniers quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Ulrich Haupt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bill Van der Goten, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 29th minute, Timothy Van Den Poel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dany-Adams Raniers was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Dominik Jensen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Jannes Van Lint was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dominik Jensen in the 55th minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Jannes Van Lint to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 58 in the game by Bill Van der Goten from a close distance when the talented Ulrich Haupt managed to make a qualified save. Austria's players were relieved. 59 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Dominik Jensen came free, but Jannes Van Lint reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 60 played minutes Austria got a freekick which was hit by Hubert Frankfurter.
