The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Lachapelle in the 3rd minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Teo de Boer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cyprien Bourry in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Teo de Boer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, France's Darren Vatinel got control of the ball when Marco van der Laan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lucas Lachapelle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Darren Vatinel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Falco Reis in the 13th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, France's Lucas Lachapelle sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Teo de Boer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lucas Lachapelle in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Teo de Boer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lucas Lachapelle struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Teo de Boer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for France. Darren Vatinel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Falco Reis in the 23rd minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Hans Mastebroek got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Darren Vatinel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind France's goalkeeper Darren Vatinel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 29 minutes into the game, Lucas Lachapelle cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Teo de Boer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter Wiggers in the 32nd minute of play forced France's goalkeeper Darren Vatinel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. France's Jean Uhl quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Hans Mastebroek, made in the 34th minute of the game. Netherlands's Teo de Boer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucas Lachapelle in the 43rd minute of play. Darren Vatinel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peter Wiggers in the 47th minute of the match.

The wind increased when Lucas Lachapelle made the kick off in the second half. If Hans Mastebroek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lucas Lachapelle scored 0-3 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Teo de Boer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cyprien Bourry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teo de Boer having to interfere. Netherlands's Vincent Rooy was substituted for Gert Batenburg. 62 minutes into the match, France's goal looked a bit too open when Vincent Rooy came free, but Darren Vatinel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st match minute, France was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dino Fieschi to maneuver through the defense. France made a substitution. Patrice Larue replaced Lucas Lachapelle. After 74 minutes of play, Netherlands's Vincent Rooy made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Darren Vatinel was left in no man's land by his defense there! A sloppy throw-in by Hans Mastebroek in the 76th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by France's Jean Uhl. After some careless play in the Netherlands defense, Cyprien Bourry kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Teo de Boer. The Netherlands fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Teo de Boer should have stopped the shot. Netherlands made a substitution. Ramon Iepmann replaced Peter Wiggers. France made a substitution. Rodrigo Peytavin replaced Cyprien Bourry. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrice Larue in the 84th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Teo de Boer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 85 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Patrice Larue came free, but Teo de Boer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Darren Vatinel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramon Iepmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Teo de Boer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrice Larue, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Teo de Boer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrice Larue in the 94th minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, Patrice Larue notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Netherlands's Teo de Boer. Teo de Boer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched France eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
