Dragoljub Despotovski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robbie Conochie in the 5th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Macedonia's goal looked a bit too open when Robbie Conochie came free, but Dragoljub Despotovski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dragoljub Despotovski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robbie Conochie in the 10th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Macedonia's goal looked a bit too open when Callum McLardy came free, but Dragoljub Despotovski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bekim Ribarski took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bradley Ennis. Bradley Ennis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Bekim Ribarski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Macedonia's supporters rose to their feet, but Bekim Ribarski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bradley Ennis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bekim Ribarski's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Bradley Ennis firmly grabbed it by the left post. Scotland's Bradley Ennis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bekim Ribarski in the 32nd minute of play. With a little luck, Scotland's Bradley Ennis got control of the ball when Bekim Ribarski tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rossario Lyall made in the 38th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Macedonia's Spasen Danailovski. Bradley Ennis was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Bekim Ribarski capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bekim Ribarski really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Bekim Ribarski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bradley Ennis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Robbie Conochie made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Bob McKee shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dragoljub Despotovski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Macedonia's goalkeeper Dragoljub Despotovski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robbie Conochie. After some careless play in the Scotland defense, Bekim Ribarski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bradley Ennis. The Scotland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bradley Ennis should have stopped the shot. Macedonia's Sande Spasovski was substituted for Bekim Ribarski. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nove Rajkov during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bradley Ennis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sande Spasovski's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robbie Conochie in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dragoljub Despotovski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Callum McLardy in the 74th minute of play forced Macedonia's goalkeeper Dragoljub Despotovski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Scotland's Bob McKee sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dragoljub Despotovski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robbie Conochie in the 79th minute of play forced Macedonia's goalkeeper Dragoljub Despotovski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Macedonia's Petar Stojanovič was substituted for Spasen Danailovski. Dragoljub Despotovski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robbie Conochie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 87 minutes into the game, Petar Stojanovič cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Bradley Ennis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Scotland defense, Sande Spasovski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bradley Ennis. The Scotland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bradley Ennis should have stopped the shot. Scotland's supporters rose to their feet, but Robbie Conochie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dragoljub Despotovski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Many of Scotland's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Scotland may have spent more time on the ball, but Macedonia were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
