Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Damiano Bontempi's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 3rdth minute, Slavoljub Pivk skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpected shot in the 7th minute by Amos Serafini got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Predrag Hartman in the 13th minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Adriano Di Campli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adriano Di Campli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Animo Mrvar in the 18th minute of the match. When Amos Serafini came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Italy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amos Serafini couldn't finish the play. A nice corner shot did that Fabio Schiavoni got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Slavoljub Pivk quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 24th minute Animo Mrvar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adriano Di Campli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Damiano Bontempi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Italy's supporters rose to their feet, but Damiano Bontempi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Slavoljub Pivk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Slovenia's Slavoljub Pivk proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Slovenia from getting a goal against them. In the 34thth minute of the game Damiano Bontempi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Slovenia's Slavoljub Pivk was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Slavoljub Pivk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damiano Bontempi in the 36th minute of the match. Italy's Adriano Di Campli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Predrag Hartman in the 39th minute of play. Slavoljub Pivk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damiano Bontempi in the 41st minute of play. Italy's Damiano Bontempi got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Slovenia booed when Italy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Attilio Lauro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Damiano Bontempi to make the kick off. When Damiano Bontempi came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Italy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damiano Bontempi couldn't finish the play. 60 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Dremelj came free, but Adriano Di Campli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adriano Di Campli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Dremelj, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jan Dremelj in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adriano Di Campli saved Italy from getting behind. Adriano Di Campli stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jan Dremelj's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. When Italy's Damiano Bontempi in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Slovenia's goalie prevented a goal. Slovenia made a substitution. Jovan Mencin replaced Žani Prešern. In the 79th minute of the match Italy got a corner. Slovenia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Fabio Schiavoni ran over to the corner to take the kick. Slavoljub Pivk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amos Serafini in the 82nd minute of the match. 84 minutes into the match, Damiano Bontempi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Slavoljub Pivk. Slovenia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Damiano Bontempi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Damiano Bontempi struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Slavoljub Pivk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Italy. In the 94th minute, one of Slovenia:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Slovenia. Fabio Schiavoni took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Slavoljub Pivk. Slavoljub Pivk dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The Italy support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
