Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Valentin Chivu started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Wawrzyniec Kaider showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valentin Chivu in the 4th minute of the match. Leonard Dranka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Bogdan Pryla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of U21 Romania booed when U21 Poland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bogdan Pryla didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, U21 Romania's Flavius Ramirez got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 21st minute, Joey Zielinski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. U21 Romania's Teodor Ulici couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for U21 Poland. 25 minutes into the match, U21 Poland's goal looked a bit too open when Gică Urdăreanu came free, but Wawrzyniec Kaider reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 29 minutes, Vasile Şoimaru successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 32 minutes, Bogdan Pryla mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Poland and the U21 Romania players grew even worse after the yellow card. Wawrzyniec Kaider made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valentin Chivu in the 35th minute of play. Vasile Şoimaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonard Dranka in the 38th minute of play. Leonard Dranka scored 1-0 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vasile Şoimaru, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentin Chivu in the 43rd minute of play forced U21 Poland's goalkeeper Wawrzyniec Kaider to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 46 minutes into the match, U21 Romania's goal looked a bit too open when Leonard Dranka came free, but Vasile Şoimaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentin Chivu in the 54th minute of play forced U21 Poland's goalkeeper Wawrzyniec Kaider to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. U21 Romania's Gică Urdăreanu got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. U21 Romania's Sever Istrăteanu was substituted for Aydin Hakim. In the 60th minute, Leonard Dranka left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Poland fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. U21 Poland made a substitution. Tolek Nowacki replaced Tymoteusz Chrobak. U21 Romania made a substitution. Sulaiman Vasile replaced Gică Urdăreanu. When U21 Romania's Valentin Chivu in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 Poland's goalie prevented a goal. U21 Romania's Vasile Şoimaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonard Dranka in the 71st minute of play. Vasile Şoimaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonard Dranka in the 73rd minute of play. U21 Poland's Iwan Solecki was substituted for Leonard Dranka. U21 Romania's Sebastian Ababei was substituted for Flavius Ramirez. U21 Poland's Gwidon Wolnik was substituted for Bogdan Birkenhagen. Sulaiman Vasile sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, U21 Romania's Valentin Chivu got a free kick in the 82nd minute. After some careless play in the U21 Romania defense, Iwan Solecki kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vasile Şoimaru. The U21 Romania fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vasile Şoimaru should have stopped the shot. U21 Romania's Vasile Şoimaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bogdan Pryla in the 91st minute of play. U21 Poland's Ignacy Dombroski managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Teodor Ulici in the 93 minute of the game. In the 94th match minute, U21 Romania was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodor Ulici to maneuver through the defense.
