Alkis Tsagarakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alpheios Polymenakou in the 14th minute of play. Cyprus's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Charis Kolovos in the 17th minute. The corner ended in Charis Kolovos almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Greece's Alkis Tsagarakis did a great save. Lefteris Adamou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fanis Michailidis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Greece's Eugenios Androulakis got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alkis Tsagarakis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oinomoas Plevritis in the 25th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alpheios Polymenakou in the 28th minute of play forced Greece's goalkeeper Alkis Tsagarakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute Greece were awarded a corner. Kostas Megalios went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Greece's corner Kostas Megalios fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lefteris Adamou quite easily take care of the ball. 36 minutes into the game, Alpheios Polymenakou cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Alkis Tsagarakis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eugenios Androulakis got free with Lefteris Adamou in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Greece's Kostas Megalios was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lefteris Adamou in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Lefteris Adamou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fanis Michailidis in the 44th minute of the match. Fanis Michailidis spun around in front of the goal 44 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Cyprus's goal. In the 48th minute Fanis Michailidis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lefteris Adamou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fanis Michailidis made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugenios Androulakis in the 54th minute of play forced Cyprus's goalkeeper Lefteris Adamou to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 58 minutes into the match, Cyprus's goal looked a bit too open when Eugenios Androulakis came free, but Lefteris Adamou reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cyprus's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kostas Megalios ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Greece's Vaggelis Ligeridis getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fanis Michailidis in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lefteris Adamou saved Cyprus from getting behind. In the 79th minute, Briarios Ladas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lefteris Adamou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugenios Androulakis in the 83rd minute of the match. Iakobos Hadjiyianakies hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Lefteris Adamou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fanis Michailidis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
