A very good chance for a goal. 14 minutes into the match, ManagerZone Crew's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe van Basten came free, but Patrick Armstrong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robert Ununger in the 16th minute of play forced De Groeibriljant's goalkeeper Joeri Eising to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in ManagerZone Crew's zone, Felipe van Basten stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Patrick Armstrong came out of the goal and Felipe van Basten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Simon Spoel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. ManagerZone Crew's Patrick Armstrong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simon Spoel in the 24th minute of play. 26 minutes into the game, De Groeibriljant's Felipe van Basten nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Patrick Armstrong made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After some careless play in the ManagerZone Crew defense, Felipe van Basten kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Patrick Armstrong. The ManagerZone Crew fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Patrick Armstrong should have stopped the shot. Patrick Armstrong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe van Basten in the 36th minute of the match. In the 37th minute Felipe van Basten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Armstrong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felipe van Basten struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Patrick Armstrong didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for De Groeibriljant. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Felipe van Basten stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Felipe van Basten who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 86thth minute tested the skills of Patrick Armstrong when he managed to save the team from getting behind. He Chao Guang's late challenge caught a ManagerZone Crew's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. He Chao Guang helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, De Groeibriljant's He Chao Guang got a free kick in the 94th minute. When the match was over De Groeibriljant could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ManagerZone Crew throughout the match.
