After a rather tough play, Kind of Blue's Hans Aleberg got a free kick in the 10th minute. Güral Bilginer was a little too slow when Lars-Erik Sundström got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 22nd minute. The score was now 1-0. Kurtuluş Öksüz might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Andy Alstedt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kurtuluş Öksüz ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 32nd minute Birger Josefsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Güral Bilginer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andy Alstedt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kurtuluş Öksüz's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Staffan Asmundsson hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Lars-Erik Sundström was extremely unlucky when he, in the 43rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After some careless play in the ESKİ CEPHE defense, Egil Dalgren kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Güral Bilginer. The ESKİ CEPHE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Güral Bilginer should have stopped the shot. Sezai Acarer came free in the 57th minute and tried to tip the ball over Andy Alstedt, but to the joy of Kind of Blue's supporters the ball hit the crossbar and out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Birger Josefsson in the 61st minute of play forced ESKİ CEPHE's goalkeeper Güral Bilginer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kurtuluş Öksüz in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andy Alstedt saved Kind of Blue from getting behind. Andy Alstedt made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Kurtuluş Öksüz sent off a good shot on target. Andy Alstedt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kurtuluş Öksüz in the 81st minute. In the 84th minute, Kind of Blue's Staffan Asmundsson seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Staffan Asmundsson the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Kind of Blue protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Staffan Asmundsson had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Kind of Blue fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 83rd minute. Penalty! In the 85th minute, the referee gave ESKİ CEPHE a penalty. Osvaldinho da Fonseca looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Andy Alstedt. ESKİ CEPHE were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
