The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jeremías Alliende made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Adelino Silveira sent off a good shot on target. In the 10th match minute, Aesir FC FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frédson da Cunha to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adelino Silveira got free with Jeremías Alliende in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 17 minutes, Ernani Cavalcante managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aesir FC FSCMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernani Cavalcante was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aesir FC FSCMZ's Adelino Silveira suffered a sore thigh after 19 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 21st minute, Marcel Bustillos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Club Deportes Santa Cruz booed when Aesir FC FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor Varela didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erasmo Passi in the 27th minute of play forced Aesir FC FSCMZ's goalkeeper Luiz Eduardo Galvão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeremías Alliende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélio Cosme in the 30th minute of play. Jeremías Alliende showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernani Cavalcante in the 33rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Aesir FC FSCMZ's Hélio Cosme got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Hélio Cosme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremías Alliende having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Aesir FC FSCMZ's Ernani Cavalcante slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jeremías Alliende. That made the score 1-0 after 39 minutes of play. After 43rd play minutes Hélio Cosme shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Jeremías Alliende and just under the crossbar into goal. Jefferson Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremías Alliende having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jefferson Rodrigues to make the kick off. If Ernani Cavalcante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th minute of the match, Erasmo Passi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Luiz Eduardo Galvão saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After some careless play in the Club Deportes Santa Cruz defense, Ernani Cavalcante kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jeremías Alliende. The Club Deportes Santa Cruz fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jeremías Alliende should have stopped the shot. In the 65thth minute of the game Ernani Cavalcante who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Jeremías Alliende was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 69 minutes into the game, Aesir FC FSCMZ's Ernani Cavalcante nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jeremías Alliende made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. In the 73rd minute, Marcel Bustillos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Aesir FC FSCMZ booed when Club Deportes Santa Cruz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcel Bustillos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jefferson Rodrigues blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jeremías Alliende having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Marcel Bustillos got a free kick in the 81st minute. If Jefferson Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Jefferson Rodrigues came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Aesir FC FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jefferson Rodrigues couldn't finish the play. Jeremías Alliende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélio Cosme in the 89th minute of play. Jeremías Alliende took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélio Cosme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee ended the match the Aesir FC FSCMZ players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
