The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Sekuoruhu FC's goal looked a bit too open when Teodoro Escalada came free, but Lorien Fontoria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lorien Fontoria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geleberto Hernandez in the 6th minute of play. Lorien Fontoria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geleberto Hernandez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luis Solloso might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lorien Fontoria. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luis Solloso ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Luis Solloso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lorien Fontoria was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. After 24 played minutes, Santa fe's Petri Laincera shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lorien Fontoria came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Santa fe reached it. If Geleberto Hernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. In the 30th minute, Geleberto Hernandez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luis Solloso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lorien Fontoria read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. The Sekuoruhu FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Santa fe were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luis Solloso to make the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Geleberto Hernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santa fe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geleberto Hernandez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 55 minutes into the match, Santa fe's Geleberto Hernandez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lorien Fontoria narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Geleberto Hernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lorien Fontoria having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Solloso in the 68th minute of play forced Sekuoruhu FC's goalkeeper Lorien Fontoria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luis Solloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lorien Fontoria having to interfere. Lorien Fontoria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Solloso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lorien Fontoria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Solloso in the 75th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Luis Solloso kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lorien Fontoria. That made the score 0-3 in the 77 minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, Lorien Fontoria successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 83rd minute, Luis Solloso fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Lorien Fontoria, passed just outside the right post. Geleberto Hernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lorien Fontoria having to interfere. Lorien Fontoria was a little too slow when Luis Solloso got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 86th minute. The score was now 0-4. If Geleberto Hernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luis Solloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Santa fe left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Sekuoruhu FC.
