Edgard Perez helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of GRÊMIO F.R G booed when E.C 2 Janeiro RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgard Perez didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Edgard Perez was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 15 minutes had been played. Angelo Netto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reyes No in the 18th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the game, Osvaldinho Branco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. E.C 2 Janeiro RS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GRÊMIO F.R G the free kick. André Döring was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 30th minute, Luizinho Mendes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Angelo Netto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reyes No in the 52nd minute of play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erasmo Moreno couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Charles Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. E.C 2 Janeiro RS's supporters rose to their feet, but Charles Nunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. André Döring breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 60 minutes, Reyes No managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GRÊMIO F.R G's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reyes No was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reyes No in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Angelo Netto saved E.C 2 Janeiro RS from getting behind. After a rather tough play, E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Luizinho Mendes got a free kick in the 64th minute. GRÊMIO F.R G's André Döring played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizinho Mendes in the 66th minute of play. Luizinho Mendes took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised André Döring. André Döring dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. With his leg Angelo Netto managed to avoid a goal in the 70thth minute, when GRÊMIO F.R G's Reyes No fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Ippolit Kiryakov, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 72 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Angelo Netto was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If Reyes No had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When GRÊMIO F.R G's Reyes No in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The GRÊMIO F.R G fans' excitement grew in the 89th match minute when GRÊMIO F.R G's Reyes No looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
