The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeremias Azubeli during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 19th minute, Jeremias Azubeli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Waldir Baptista in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulo Giraldo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wieslaw Zajac made in the 26th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Deportivo Deroense's Mati Aron. Candido Izotz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Menoikeus Papadimitriou, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute, Moises Darien left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ceibal AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Waldir Baptista to strike the kick off in the second half. Candido Izotz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Moises Darien showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 51 minute of play. The throw-in from Erling Ingemarsson in the 56th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Deportivo Deroense's Mati Aron. After having played for 61 minutes, Waldir Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Deroense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Waldir Baptista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cirilo Paz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Candido Izotz having to interfere. Candido Izotz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Moises Darien showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 68 minute of play. After 71 played minutes Deportivo Deroense got a freekick which was hit by Şenel Baran. Menoikeus Papadimitriou took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Candido Izotz. Candido Izotz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Deroense's zone, Moises Darien stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Candido Izotz came out of the goal and Moises Darien tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 80th minute Waldir Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Giraldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ceibal AFC's Paulo Giraldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Waldir Baptista in the 82nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moises Darien in the 83rd minute of play forced Deportivo Deroense's goalkeeper Candido Izotz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th match minute, Ceibal AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cirilo Paz to maneuver through the defense. Şenel Baran hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Candido Izotz made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Moises Darien sent off a good shot on target. The Ceibal AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ceibal AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
