But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edelmiro Faro couldn't finish the play. After having played for 17 minutes, Albino Sugoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AD Darío Dubois's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albino Sugoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Niceto Ishmael struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Ciriaco Emesto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AD Darío Dubois. AD Darío Dubois's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Ermegildo Gonzo 25 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Ermegildo Gonzo might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Generoso Cordarell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ermegildo Gonzo ran back to his position shaking his head. Bernardino Enaut hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. When Ermegildo Gonzo came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the LaMaquinita fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ermegildo Gonzo couldn't finish the play. Niceto Ishmael fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciriaco Emesto having to interfere. Generoso Cordarell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ermegildo Gonzo in the 45th minute of play. AD Darío Dubois's Generoso Cordarell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ermegildo Gonzo in the 48th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ermegildo Gonzo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of LaMaquinita booed when AD Darío Dubois was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvano Otsando didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ciriaco Emesto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albino Sugoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The LaMaquinita fans' excitement grew in the 93rd match minute when LaMaquinita's Ermegildo Gonzo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
