Corrientes FC's Nunez Teyo got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, EL CHACHO's Eduardo Arlo got control of the ball when Nunez Teyo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 11th minute, Damian Gartzen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nunez Teyo did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Eduardo Arlo 13 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian Gartzen in the 18th minute of play forced EL CHACHO's goalkeeper Eduardo Arlo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, EL CHACHO's Maximino Lucian got a free kick in the 19th minute. After 20 minutes, Edgard Jenaro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the EL CHACHO and the Corrientes FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st match minute, EL CHACHO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgard Jenaro to maneuver through the defense. Eduardo Arlo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nunez Teyo in the 22nd minute. Luciano Cilio's late challenge caught a Corrientes FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 37th minute, Nunez Teyo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Eduardo Arlo. The goal made the score 4-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nunez Teyo was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Nunez Teyo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corrientes FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nunez Teyo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Lucio Cloyo fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Corrientes FC's protests and gave Lucio Cloyo a yellow card for diving instead. Lucio Cloyo hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. 61 minutes into the match, Corrientes FC's goalkeeper Godofredo Lop had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lisandro Sansone. In the 61st match minute, Corrientes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucio Cloyo to maneuver through the defense. Eduardo Arlo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eduardo Arlo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lucio Cloyo went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. Nunez Teyo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eduardo Arlo having to interfere. Feliberto Beat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eduardo Arlo having to interfere. EL CHACHO's Eduardo Arlo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nunez Teyo in the 90th minute of play. If Lucio Cloyo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 95 minutes, Nunez Teyo made it 9-0 with a short kick to the right side. EL CHACHO's Eduardo Arlo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. There was no doubt that Corrientes FC were the better team. Corrientes FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
