Giles Gale dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 14th minute, Phillip Gettins ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marek Wray was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Giles Gale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerry Pollock in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 26th minute Tod Crooks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giles Gale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th minute, Phillip Gettins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Giles Gale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Real Brid players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Manchester FC were winning 1-5.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Phillip Gettins to make the kick off. After 54 played minutes Manchester FC got a freekick which was hit by Stewart Coulshaw. Pierce Topham kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. If Tod Crooks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute of the match, Jerry Pollock tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Giles Gale saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Tod Crooks in the 84thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Giles Gale, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a defensive mix-up in Real Brid's zone, Tod Crooks stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giles Gale came out of the goal and Tod Crooks tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Manchester FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
