Spectators: 7109 (Terracing: 5334, Seating: 1634, VIP seats: 141) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Waldir Baptista started the match with the kick off. In the 8th minute, Victorio Balesio made a precise shot to the right of Candido Izotz. Deportivo Deroense's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Ricardo Mikeldi was out of position in the 12 minute of play, and Waldir Baptista capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Waldir Baptista really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Eustaquio Abad's late challenge caught a chelsea FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eustaquio Abad helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Deportivo Deroense getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Eustaquio Abad hit a great ball. In the 17th minute Simon Uhin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Candido Izotz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Candido Izotz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carmelo Ebardo in the 20th minute of play. Waldir Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Mikeldi having to interfere. Deportivo Deroense's Candido Izotz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carmelo Ebardo in the 25th minute of play. Jairo Valerio made in the 26th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Victorio Balesio however managed to control. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind chelsea FC's goalkeeper Ricardo Mikeldi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Candido Izotz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simon Uhin in the 34th minute of play. Jairo Valerio made in the 36th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Victorio Balesio. A collision led to chelsea FC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Lino Arnas hit a great ball. After 40 minutes, Lino Arnas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the chelsea FC and the Deportivo Deroense players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 40th minute, one of chelsea FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for chelsea FC. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Victorino Jaunzuria to make the kick off. chelsea FC's Ricardo Mikeldi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rolando Schiavi in the 52nd minute of play. Deportivo Deroense's Eustaquio Abad managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Jairo Valerio in the 60 minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in chelsea FC's zone, Eustaquio Abad stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Mikeldi came out of the goal and Eustaquio Abad tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 61 minutes, Waldir Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Deroense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Waldir Baptista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 68thth minute of the game Waldir Baptista who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but chelsea FC's Ricardo Mikeldi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Saturnino Gai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victorino Jaunzuria in the 73rd minute of play forced Deportivo Deroense's goalkeeper Candido Izotz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saturnino Gai came free in the 75th minute and tried to tip the ball over Ricardo Mikeldi, but to the joy of chelsea FC's supporters the ball hit the crossbar and out. Simon Uhin took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Candido Izotz. Candido Izotz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. 83 minutes into the match, Deportivo Deroense's goal looked a bit too open when Victorino Jaunzuria came free, but Candido Izotz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eustaquio Abad hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. After 86 played minutes Deportivo Deroense got a freekick which was hit by Eustaquio Abad. Simon Uhin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Candido Izotz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Carmelo Ebardo took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Candido Izotz to make any attempt to save it. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. chelsea FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
