Mistletoe Misfits booed when BARAJAS SOCCER TEAM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hernan Moxi didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Merry Mittengame put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Richie Verdeces. Merry Mittengame received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Richie Verdeces tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Figgy Giftfeast showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daan Barajas in the 17th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Jingle Mittenwarmth made a precise shot to the right of Richie Verdeces. BARAJAS SOCCER TEAM's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. BARAJAS SOCCER TEAM's Richie Verdeces played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noel Jinglenight in the 26th minute of play. After some careless play in the BARAJAS SOCCER TEAM defense, Noel Jinglenight kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Richie Verdeces. The BARAJAS SOCCER TEAM fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Richie Verdeces should have stopped the shot. 29 minutes into the match, Merry Mittengame notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of BARAJAS SOCCER TEAM's Richie Verdeces. Richie Verdeces was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Richie Verdeces took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Merry Mittengame, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the game, Merry Mittengame cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Richie Verdeces was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Richie Verdeces made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noel Jinglenight in the 37th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Noel Jinglenight ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Richie Verdeces was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. After a defensive mix-up in BARAJAS SOCCER TEAM's zone, Jingle Mittenwarmth stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Richie Verdeces came out of the goal and Jingle Mittenwarmth tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daan Barajas was the one to do the kick off. BARAJAS SOCCER TEAM's Daan Barajas got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in 12. Mistletoe Misfits's zone, Daan Barajas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Figgy Giftfeast came out of the goal and Daan Barajas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Figgy Giftfeast showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hernan Moxi, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Richie Verdeces made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Hazelnut Mittenglove sent off a good shot on target. Noel Jinglenight's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Richie Verdeces read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. After 62 minutes of play, 12. Mistletoe Misfits's Jingle Mittenwarmth made it 0-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Richie Verdeces was left in no man's land by his defense there! Daan Barajas might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Figgy Giftfeast. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daan Barajas ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hernan Moxi in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Figgy Giftfeast saved 12. Mistletoe Misfits from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Merry Mittengame got free with Richie Verdeces in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 71 minutes, Daan Barajas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BARAJAS SOCCER TEAM's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daan Barajas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Richie Verdeces made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Merry Mittengame sent off a good shot on target. When 12. Mistletoe Misfits could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than BARAJAS SOCCER TEAM throughout the match.
