Go Ahead Eagles's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gleszcz SSA the free kick. In the 6th match minute, Go Ahead Eagles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lambis Prezas to maneuver through the defense. Gleszcz SSA's Yetkin Uçkun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christos Stratas in the 11th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Periklis Vougiouklis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Yetkin Uçkun was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Yetkin Uçkun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christos Stratas in the 20th minute of play. Antoni Smuskiewicz's late challenge caught a Go Ahead Eagles's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Antoni Smuskiewicz helped the player get up and apologised. In the 20th match minute, Gleszcz SSA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antoni Smuskiewicz to maneuver through the defense. Wincenty Blicharz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 25 minutes into the match, Gleszcz SSA's goal looked a bit too open when Tasos Missiakos came free, but Yetkin Uçkun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th minute, Wlodzimierz Zworski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Gleszcz SSA getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Bernard Przybylo hit a great ball. The supporters of Gleszcz SSA booed when Go Ahead Eagles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tasos Missiakos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute Pankracy Palzewicz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ikken Casillas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Go Ahead Eagles's Markos Bardakis got a free kick in the 39th minute. Ikken Casillas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pankracy Palzewicz, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Wlodzimierz Zworski in the 63rd minute of play forced Go Ahead Eagles's goalkeeper Ikken Casillas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gleszcz SSA's Yetkin Uçkun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lambis Prezas in the 66th minute of play. After 66 minutes of play Gleszcz SSA's Antoni Smuskiewicz was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Ikken Casillas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wincenty Blicharz in the 69th minute of the match. If Pankracy Palzewicz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute Wincenty Blicharz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ikken Casillas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Go Ahead Eagles's Ikken Casillas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wlodzimierz Zworski in the 80th minute of play. In the 81st minute of the match Gleszcz SSA got a corner. Go Ahead Eagles's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Pankracy Palzewicz ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Gleszcz SSA's Pankracy Palzewicz to fire away a dangerous shot which Ikken Casillas despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Yetkin Uçkun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lambis Prezas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wlodzimierz Zworski in the 85th minute of play forced Go Ahead Eagles's goalkeeper Ikken Casillas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bogdan Nuszkowski tried in the 89th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Yetkin Uçkun a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 0-1. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Go Ahead Eagles eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
