When the match had gone on for 3 minutes, Vilmantas Ubavičius took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Donato Esnarriaga to make any attempt to save it. Donato Esnarriaga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vilmantas Ubavičius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 6 played minutes Mas que Vencedores 1988 got a freekick which was hit by Matias Paublo. When Castel Rancaño came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the JUVENTUD GIRARDOT fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Castel Rancaño couldn't finish the play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 14 minutes into the game, when Nestor Placiencia put in a rough tackle. 13 minutes into the game, one of Mas que Vencedores 1988:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Matias Paublo hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Lleir Cajigal was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 17th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Mas que Vencedores 1988's Eneko Alvarez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lleir Cajigal in the 19th minute of play. Johan Lång fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Esnarriaga having to interfere. The supporters of Mas que Vencedores 1988 booed when JUVENTUD GIRARDOT was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gillermo Cuero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Donato Esnarriaga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johan Lång, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. 28 minutes into the match, JUVENTUD GIRARDOT's goal looked a bit too open when Vilmantas Ubavičius came free, but Donato Esnarriaga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eneko Alvarez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gillermo Cuero in the 38th minute of play. After some careless play in the JUVENTUD GIRARDOT defense, Johan Lång kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Donato Esnarriaga. The JUVENTUD GIRARDOT fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Donato Esnarriaga should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo Guztros in the 43rd minute of play forced Mas que Vencedores 1988's goalkeeper Eneko Alvarez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eneko Alvarez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Castel Rancaño, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute.

In the 56th match minute, JUVENTUD GIRARDOT was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gillermo Cuero to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in JUVENTUD GIRARDOT's zone, Vilmantas Ubavičius stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donato Esnarriaga came out of the goal and Vilmantas Ubavičius tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gillermo Cuero's late challenge caught a Mas que Vencedores 1988's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gillermo Cuero helped the player get up and apologised. After 60 played minutes JUVENTUD GIRARDOT got a freekick which was hit by Gillermo Cuero. Eneko Alvarez made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Castel Rancaño sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lleir Cajigal in the 67th minute of play forced Mas que Vencedores 1988's goalkeeper Eneko Alvarez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Castel Rancaño could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Eneko Alvarez made a huge save. When Rajmond Visch came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Mas que Vencedores 1988 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rajmond Visch couldn't finish the play.
