After having played for 30 minutes, Ramiro Abel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Velez Sarsfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ramiro Abel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Guillermo Heriberto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Abar, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Matias Orlin kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Ramiro Abel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guillermo Heriberto having to interfere. Faustino Ruy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nemesio Olayo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Filomeno Garikoitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Nemesio Olayo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Faustino Ruy made a kick off. When Filomeno Garikoitz came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Samuhi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filomeno Garikoitz couldn't finish the play. Filomeno Garikoitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nemesio Olayo having to interfere. If Faustino Ruy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Velez Sarsfield's Alvaro Hartz got a free kick in the 59th minute. Ramiro Abel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Velez Sarsfield's Teofilo Handi got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Filomeno Garikoitz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fernando Abar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Guillermo Heriberto made a huge save. Fernando Abar charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fernando Abar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fernando Abar in the 88thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Guillermo Heriberto, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
