The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Mufaso FC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Cipriano Tercero hit a great ball. The long shot by Patricio Ricart in the 7th minute really tested Melquiades Fidele's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Melquiades Fidele took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luciano Ederono, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th match minute, Mufaso FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cleto Gipuzkoa to maneuver through the defense. If Luciano Ederono had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 18 in the game by Luciano Ederono from a close distance when the talented Melquiades Fidele managed to make a qualified save. Mufaso FC's players were relieved. When Cleto Gipuzkoa came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Mufaso FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cleto Gipuzkoa couldn't finish the play. Diego Chinto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luciano Ederono to make the kick off. If Cleto Gipuzkoa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melquiades Fidele came out of the goal and Luciano Ederono tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Diego Chinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Melquiades Fidele tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diego Chinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 71 minutes into the match, Mufaso FC's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Chinto came free, but Melquiades Fidele reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diego Chinto scored 1-0 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Melquiades Fidele, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 78 minutes into the game, one of Mufaso FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In a very dangerous position, a player in El Parque F.C. fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 96th minute. Penalty! If Jaime Nesto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 100th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The El Parque F.C. fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mufaso FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
