In the 4th minute Teofilo Monico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Candido Izotz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Deportivo Deroense's Candido Izotz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduardo Koldo in the 7th minute of play. When Ernestina's Ciro Gau in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Deportivo Deroense's goalie prevented a goal. Candido Izotz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro Gau in the 11th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teofilo Monico in the 20th minute of play forced Deportivo Deroense's goalkeeper Candido Izotz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Candido Izotz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardo Honrio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Teofilo Monico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Candido Izotz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 28 minutes into the match, Deportivo Deroense's goal looked a bit too open when Teofilo Monico came free, but Candido Izotz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 29 minutes Deportivo Deroense's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Oscar Enaut who took care of the corner kick. 35 minutes into the match, Waldir Baptista had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adrian Gabon. Ernestina's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Waldir Baptista was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 41 minutes into the match, Deportivo Deroense's goal looked a bit too open when Ciro Gau came free, but Candido Izotz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Candido Izotz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teofilo Monico in the 44th minute of play. A collision led to Ernestina getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Bernardo Honrio hit a great ball. Waldir Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Adrian Gabon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Waldir Baptista to make the kick off. Adrian Gabon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waldir Baptista in the 51st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ernestina's Eduardo Koldo got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Adrian Gabon came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Deroense's Waldir Baptista. But to his dismay, Waldir Baptista quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Candido Izotz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro Gau in the 57th minute of the match. Oscar Enaut hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernardo Honrio got free with Candido Izotz in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Teofilo Monico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Candido Izotz made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Teofilo Monico sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Teofilo Monico managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ernestina's supporters rose to their feet, but Teofilo Monico was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Candido Izotz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Saturnino Gai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Gabon having to interfere. Deportivo Deroense's defense didn't have a chance, in the 75th minute, when Ciro Gau scored to the left of an out of position Candido Izotz, making the score, 2-2. The supporters of Ernestina booed when Deportivo Deroense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mati Aron didn't get a good kick on the ball. 84 minutes into the match, Deportivo Deroense's goal looked a bit too open when Eduardo Koldo came free, but Candido Izotz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Candido Izotz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciro Gau, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Eustaquio Abad hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. After having played for 89 minutes, Inocencio Orland managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ernestina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Inocencio Orland was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Candido Izotz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro Gau in the 91st minute of the match. Waldir Baptista charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Waldir Baptista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 93rd minute, Waldir Baptista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
