Club Atlético Magallanes's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Teo Honesto ran over to the corner to take the kick. Lukács Bánhegyi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Sierocki in the 9th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Jan Sierocki put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Lukács Bánhegyi. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ernesto Belarmo got free with Jimeno Nevada in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Hungarian Olympic's Miladin Kirichev in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jan Sierocki to make the kick off. A collision led to Club Atlético Magallanes getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Dariusz Ranowiecki hit a great ball. Gavino Rami fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lukács Bánhegyi having to interfere. Jimeno Nevada made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Çağrı Torehan in the 64th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ernesto Belarmo in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jimeno Nevada prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jimeno Nevada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernesto Belarmo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
