Václav Židek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roland Záhoran in the 4th minute of the match. In the 10thth minute of the game Roland Záhoran who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Kukova's Václav Židek was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Róbert Hargaš kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC Kukova! FC Kukova's Václav Židek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter Bondra in the 27th minute of play. Peter Bondra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Václav Židek having to interfere. After 35 minutes, Tibor Bajza mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Kukova and the AFK Petržalka players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the match had been going on for 36 minutes, AFK Petržalka's Bohuslav Varga got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Václav Židek. Roland Záhoran struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Václav Židek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AFK Petržalka. 45 minutes into the game, Tomás de Castro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Hugo Fisher was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 51st match minute, FC Kukova was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ondrej Olejár to maneuver through the defense. Václav Židek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roland Záhoran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in AFK Petržalka's zone, Ondrej Olejár stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hugo Fisher came out of the goal and Ondrej Olejár tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 61 minutes into the match, FC Kukova's goal looked a bit too open when Roland Záhoran came free, but Václav Židek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Václav Židek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peter Bondra in the 66th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roland Záhoran in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Václav Židek prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Ivan Halgoš had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ondrej Olejár could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Hugo Fisher made a huge save. The supporters of AFK Petržalka booed when FC Kukova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boris Trizna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roland Záhoran scored 2-1 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Václav Židek, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 85 minutes into the match, AFK Petržalka's Roland Záhoran sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Václav Židek narrowly saved just below the crossbar. FC Kukova's Václav Židek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roland Záhoran in the 88th minute of play. 88 minutes into the game, Alfred Šimkovič was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AFK Petržalka's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Kukova the free kick. In the 90th minute of the match Tibor Bajza sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hugo Fisher skillfully saved the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the FC Kukova players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for AFK Petržalka.
