When Truman Villalobos came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Barcelona fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Truman Villalobos couldn't finish the play. 19 minutes into the match, Truman Villalobos notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of New England Minas's Segundo Gol. Segundo Gol was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Segundo Gol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fumo Pedrais in the 21st minute of play. In the 21st minute, Fumo Pedrais left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Barcelona fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Chris Cabezons short, quick shot in the 24thth minute got Domenico Dickerson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a little luck, Barcelona's Domenico Dickerson got control of the ball when Chris Cabezon tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 28th minute, Dadá Ponta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Fumo Pedrais had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Mete Ferro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Domenico Dickerson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mete Ferro in the 34th minute of the match. In the 35th minute New England Minas were awarded a corner. Chris Cabezon went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led New England Minas's Chris Cabezon to fire away a dangerous shot which Domenico Dickerson despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Chris Cabezon's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 37thth minute, Domenico Dickerson skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Mete Ferro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 40 minutes into the match, Barcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Mete Ferro came free, but Domenico Dickerson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to New England Minas getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Chris Cabezon hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Mete Ferro managed to get in a good position for a shot. New England Minas's supporters rose to their feet, but Mete Ferro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Domenico Dickerson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

New England Minas's Segundo Gol played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angus Young in the 51st minute of play. Mete Ferro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Domenico Dickerson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Domenico Dickerson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mete Ferro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Barcelona's Domenico Dickerson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mete Ferro in the 62nd minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in New England Minas fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 77th minute. Penalty! Mete Ferro scored 4-3 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Domenico Dickerson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 86 minutes, Mete Ferro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New England Minas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mete Ferro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mete Ferro in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Domenico Dickerson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Barcelona booed when New England Minas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jon Negron didn't get a good kick on the ball. Segundo Gol made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Fumo Pedrais sent off a good shot on target. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The New England Minas fans cheered their team off the field, for while Barcelona had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
